On July 18, 2025, ESGR National Chairman John Sampa and the Georgia ESGR State Committee proudly presented multiple Employer Support Awards—including the Patriot Award and Seven Seals Award—to Major League Baseball leaders during a special on-field ceremony at the Braves-Yankees game in Atlanta. ?? Among those honored was the VP of Major League Baseball and the President of the Major League Baseball Umpire Association, recognized for their outstanding support of service members. ?? 1st Lt Shane Livensparger, a Georgia Air National Guardsman and MLB Umpire (#43), expressed his deep appreciation for MLB’s support. Captain Jace Cook and Sergeant First Class Lonnie Dornhecker, both currently deployed to Kosovo, nominated their civilian supervisors for the Patriot Award to recognize outstanding employer support. These recognitions are part of ESGR’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the bond between Reserve Component Service members and their employers.
