Parkview Health is pleased to announce the appointment of two long-standing leaders to roles overseeing Parkview Regional Medical Center (PRMC) and Affiliates in Allen County. Jerry Grannan (pictured, left) has been named president, and Dr. Mike Yurkanin (pictured, right) will serve as chief physician executive, forming a dyad leadership model to guide strategic and operational efforts across PRMC and its affiliated locations. In the dyad model, administrative and clinical leaders work as equal partners to align operational efficiency with high-quality, patient-centered care, fostering shared accountability and improved collaboration across the organization. Grannan brings nearly a decade of experience as chief operating officer of Parkview Physicians Group (PPG), where he partnered with leaders across the health system to advance clinical excellence and drive results. Dr. Yurkanin began serving as associate chief medical officer for PRMC and Affiliates in 2015 and was named chief medical officer in 2021. In 2023, his role expanded to include oversight of all Parkview Health hospitals. In this new role, he will continue to strengthen clinical alignment and quality across the region. “Jerry and Mike are highly respected leaders with a deep understanding of our culture, caregivers and community,” said Dr. Ray Dusman, president of physician and clinical enterprise, Parkview Health. “Their partnership will ensure continuity and unified direction as they guide our teams forward in Allen County.” “I’ve had the privilege of working with many of our hospital and physician teams over the past several years,” said Dr. Yurkanin. “This new structure offers an opportunity to strengthen those connections and further elevate the care we provide to our community.” Grannan added, “I’m honored to step into this role alongside Dr. Yurkanin. We’re both committed to building on the strong foundation at PRMC and continuing to support our caregivers in delivering excellent care.” Both Grannan and Dr. Yurkanin were nationally recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review for their leadership in 2024, respectively. Grannan was named one of the publication’s 118 COOs to Know, while Dr. Yurkanin was honored as one of 180 Chief Medical Officers to Know in 2025 — acknowledgments that reflect their impact and contributions to advancing healthcare excellence.?

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Dr. Fen-Lei Chang on Tuesday, July 22. In honor of his extraordinary life, the green Parkview flags at all Parkview locations will be flown at half-staff through dusk on Sunday, Aug. 3. ? As physician leader of Parkview Neurosciences, Dr. Chang was known not only for his clinical expertise but also for his leadership in developing comprehensive care programs within the service line, including stroke, movement disorders and many others. Additionally, Dr. Chang served system-level roles within Credentials, Research and the Internal Review Board. ? A tireless educator and researcher, Dr. Chang was an associate dean and director at the Indiana University School of Medicine – Fort Wayne and an active member with the American Academy of Neurology, the American Stroke Association and the Society for Neuroscience. He served as service line dyad leader at Parkview since 2017 and was a dedicated community leader in northeast Indiana for more than 30 years. ? A few of those who had the privilege of working closely with Dr. Chang offered these thoughts in his remembrance: "Whether it was with patients, colleagues, students or staff, Dr. Chang was always humble, respectful and kind," said Dr. Mitch Stucky, president, Parkview Physicians Group. "He was a tremendous human being who was unbelievably committed to medicine and taking care of people. No matter how busy he was,?he would see anyone a colleague would ask him to see." ? "Fen was an exemplar for young physicians – a model of integrity, empathy, and dedication," said Dr. Michael Mirro, chief academic research officer and medical director, Parkview Research Center. "He was also a great friend." ? "Dr. Chang was a distinguished leader in clinical neurology, research and the advancement of neuroscience programs," said Dr. Shamir Haji, neurocritical care and stroke director, and service line dyad leader, Parkview Neurosciences. "His mentorship, compassion, and visionary guidance left a lasting impact and will be deeply missed."

Parkview Health plans to build a full-service hospital and medical office building in West Lafayette, Indiana. The facility will be located near the intersection of N 100 W and Kalberer Road, on land being acquired from the Purdue Research Foundation (PRF). “We are grateful for partners like PRF, Purdue University and the City of West Lafayette for working with us over the last several years to make this hospital a reality,” said Dr. Greg Johnson, chief physician executive of growth markets, Parkview Health. “These community leaders shared our vision to meet the growing needs of Tippecanoe County.” The approximately 200,000-square foot hospital will accommodate up to 40 inpatient beds and feature a 24/7 emergency department, surgical and procedural services, specialty care, lab and imaging, a comprehensive suite of outpatient services, and shell space for future expansion. The medical office building will house primary care and specialty care, many of which are expected to be available prior to the full hospital opening in 2028. “We are pleased to welcome Parkview to the Purdue Research Park to build its full-service hospital which will support the growth of the Purdue Research Park and the broader community,” said PRF President and CEO Chad Pittman. “Parkview brings a comprehensive vision for delivering high quality health care at scale in West Lafayette and we look forward to them becoming a vital piece of our live, work, play community.” The development is expected to create approximately 250 healthcare jobs, spanning both clinical and non-clinical roles, and position Parkview as one of the largest employers in West Lafayette. “Welcoming Parkview to West Lafayette is more than a milestone; it’s an investment in the health and future of our community,” said West Lafayette Mayor Erin Easter. “We’ve had meaningful conversations with Parkview leaders, and their commitment to high-quality care, well-paying jobs, and being a responsible community partner reflects the values we prioritize as a city.” Construction on the new facility is expected to begin in 2026, with a targeted opening in 2028.

Parkview Regional Medical Center (PRMC) has once again been recognized in the Best Hospitals rankings by U.S. News and World Report. Parkview Ortho Hospital was also named as “high performing” in three categories. PRMC was ranked as the No. 6 top hospital in Indiana and recognized as “high performing” in nine categories, while Parkview Ortho Hospital was awarded “high performing” marks in three procedures reviewed for specialty orthopedic hospitals. Both hospitals were recognized by U.S. News in 2024. “We’re proud to be honored as one of Indiana’s top hospitals,” said Jerry Grannan, president, PRMC and Affiliates. “Our campus benefits from the close working relationships of our many physicians and specialists who work cooperatively to take a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to patient care. Patients can be assured that they will receive the highest levels of quality and safety, and an excellent experience.” “Whether our patients need joint replacement, spinal surgery or any other orthopedic procedure, Parkview Ortho Hospital has built its reputation on results and the relief we’re able to provide,” said Dr. Alan McGee, president, Parkview Health Orthopedics, and physician executive of Parkview’s orthopedic service line. “Our team of specialists works together to craft individualized care to address the specific needs of each patient and empower them to meet their personal health goals. We’re proud to continue being recognized by U.S. News as a top specialty care provider in our region.” Both hospitals have been frequently recognized for their outstanding quality of care. PRMC has received “A” grades for safety from The Leapfrog Group for 22 of 24 reports dating back to 2013 and was named a Fortune/PINC AI Top 50 Cardiovascular Hospital in 2024. Parkview Ortho Hospital has been selected among Becker’s Hospitals with Great Orthopedic Programs in 2023 and 2024, and selected as the No. 1 overall specialty hospital for patient experience by NRC Health. “Excellent care is the result of excellent providers who are engaged in their mission to improve the health and well-being of their patients,” said Dr. Michael Yurkanin, chief physician executive for PRMC and Affiliates. “The collaborative work of our physicians, advanced practitioners, nurses and support staff is centered around the patient — hearing their concerns, answering questions and addressing their health needs — ultimately providing compassionate and effective care. That’s the foundation of our culture that patients can expect to find at not just these two hospitals, but anywhere they see the Parkview name.”
