I hope you’re starting to see Spring arrive in your neck of the woods because I definitely have seen flowers blooming and heard birds singing around here!

And you know what is more dreaded about Spring than seasonal allergies?

You guessed it, Spring Cleaning!

But it shouldn’t be that way. Think of it as a way to clear out dust, declutter your stuff and start fresh and new for the rest of the year!

I mean, my garage was the last place I wanted to be last Saturday but now it is organized and more spacious since I found things to donate…

And I don’t cringe every time I get out of the car!

I bet you didn’t know that just like our house, apartment, or garage, our careers need some maintenance, too!

This goes unnoticed until we look for a new position or industry and find that we never updated anything!

That’s why this week we’re talking about:?Spring Cleaning Your Career

Let’s tackle 3 vital areas:

Inventory your Achievements:?Gather up any complimentary emails from a client, wording on a performance evaluation, or anything that you could put into a folder called Wins so that you have these achievements from past or current jobs at your fingertips.

Our memories are short and when it comes to being able to share your wins on a resume or in an interview having them in a folder can go a long way. Especially as a reminder to you how much you have contributed and how much more you can accomplish!

Update your resume and Linkedin profile:?Even if you are not currently job searching, your resume should be up to date on your credentials, qualifications and achievements. Your Linkedin profile should be current, and if you're a seasoned professional, a good rule of thumb is to spotlight your most recent 10 years -- unless the prior experience elevates your candidacy.

This makes life easier for when you are ready for a new job and can make minor tweaks. But who’s to say that a recruiter or employer might not be looking at you right now and want to engage you because you populate in their search results. Always good to hear about new opportunities bc I believe it's "THIS or something better."

Networking:?This means staying connected to the network you have in place and reaching out to check in -- not because you are looking for a new job -- but without an ask at all! Reactivating your network will feel easier than showing up out of the blue one day when you need to call in a request.

Also, do you have a plan in place to creating new connections like people whose work you admire or someone at your dream organization/industry? Share your genuine appreciation or admiration, ask them what their challenges are, and see how you can support them in reaching their goals. You'll be surprised at how they can help you in turn.

Shoutout to one of our Happily Hired Formula students who recently shared all her life she has been taught to just do a good job, put in the time, and eventually you'll get ahead in life.

But Nicole knew that she wanted more and it was up to her to take charge.

She implemented our strategies inside HHF and this year shares she's now making 65% more than her last salary - and in a new role/organization she feels challenged by.

With everyone talking about inflation, and prices of everything going up except wages, I say it's time to learn how to advocate and earn more.

If you want to have results like Nicole, then I'd like to invite you into the?5 Day Land Your Dream Job Bootcamp. This free training series is completely revamped and we're going to a deep dive around confidence, clarity, and HOW to land a dream job.
